Arsenal Debate: Should Lukas Podolski be used as centre-forward?

Posted on November 08, 2012 by admin
There are various reports around today saying that Lukas Podolski has told a journalist that he is not happy being stuck out on the wing by Arsene Wenger, and he thinks he would score far more goals for Arsenal if he was used in a more central role. “I’d rather play centrally up front,” Podolski was quoted as saying. “On the left, I have to do a lot of defensive work, constantly running up and down. I am not a classical winger.”

Jack Wilshere very hopeful of returning to his former glory

Posted on November 08, 2012 by admin
Jack Wilshere completed his first full game in 14 months for Arsenal on Tuesday, and he has revealed that he is feeling fitter after every match and believes that, given time, he will return to the high level of peformance he achieved before his ankle injury first knocked him low.
“I don’t think there was a point where I thought I’m not coming back,” Wilshere said. “I always thought I could come back.
“It was a serious injury, of course it kept me out for so long, but it wasn’t the result of a bad tackle or anything where it was career-threatening. It was just something that happened over time.

Arsenal’s search for a striker – Huntelaar or Schurrle for me (plus video)!

Arsenal’s striker search by AH
Arsenal reportedly wish to bring another attacking player to the Emirates this January, with our main targets being Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente, Schalke striker Klass Jan Huntelaar, Bayer Leverkusen player André Schürrle and Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko.
Now for starters, I cannot see Dzeko moving from Manchester City to Arsenal. Firstly at Manchester City he does get regular playing time, despite it being off the bench in most cases. He also has a high chance of winning silverware at City, whilst he is also getting a weekly reported salary of £140,000.

Jack Wilshere tells Walcott – Sign Da Ting!

Posted on November 08, 2012 by admin
The young England midfielder Jack Wilshere wants his fellow countryman Theo Walcott to sort out his differences with Arsenal and sign his new contract extension with the club. Jack said in the Sun: “Theo has been great.”
“His future is down to him and the boss to sort out.
“I hope he does sign. He has been great for us. He’s an English lad and great to have around.”

Arsenal Rumours – David Villa, Llorente or Dzeko?

Arsenal are after 3 strikers in January by KJ
After the disappointing loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford, the ever reliable @GeoffArsenal (he has the same connections as AFCAMDEN) stated that Arsenal are in for 3 strikers in January. These strikers are Edin Dzeko, Fernando Llorente and David Villa. I like many of you was very sceptical when I read those names but Geoff has been spot on many a time with line-ups as well as transfer targets.
Here’s my opinion on the players and the likelihood that they’ll sign:

Arsenal want their supporters back! Just be patient….

Cheer up gunners! by RC
I have in the past produced an article in which I spoke of the quality of our team so I’m not going to bore you all with a repeat squad analysis. In fact, I’m not even going to bore you all with an in depth article because the point I wish to get across in this article is a simple one.
Our squad has been hit with injuries and greeted by many new faces over the past two seasons which is reflected on the pitch by our current run of indifferent performances. But for all the talk of players gone consider this:

Wilshere and Kos inject confidence into Arsenal

Posted on November 07, 2012 by Bob
It was great to see Jack Wilshere playing for Arsenal in the Champions League again, and for Laurent Koscielny to get a rare start. Of course, Jack is suspended for the Premier league visit of Fulham, but Kos should play again, even if Gibbs is back, as Vermaelen has been a bit shaky recently.
Both players were obviously glad to be back, and believe that Arsenal will now keep getting better. Koscielny says that a point is good against Schalke in Germany. Real Madrid nearly lost both their games against German opposition and Man City were very lucky to get a draw in Manchester.

Arsenal could have the Ox back against Fulham

Posted on November 07, 2012 by Bob
Arsenal fans and Arsene Wenger will be delighted with the news that one of our long list of injury hit players is ready to return to action. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be in the Arsenal team that takes on Fulham at the Emirates on Saturday.
The 19-year old midfielder has been out of action with a hip peoblem picked up in his brief appearance in Arsenal’s abysmal loss to Norwich a couple of weeks ago. The Ox has not really got going yet this season, but hopefully is now fit and ready to inject some pace and power into the Gunners.

This month could decide future for Arsenal and Walcott

Posted on November 07, 2012 by Bob
Maybe I am reading between the lines and seeing things that aren’t there, but when Theo Walcott talks about the tough month facing Arsenal, and how important it is, I think he is talking about his own situation as well.
“It is going to be a tough month for us now. It is going to test us all, not just physically but mentally as well, and I think we are ready for it.”

Champions League draw provokes mixed feelings at Arsenal

Posted on November 07, 2012 by Bob
Vito Mannone has revealed that the Arsenal players have mixed feelings about the Champions League point that was earned in Germany last night against Schalke. The same can probably be said about Arsenal fans, who will be relieved we did not lose, but still not particularly impressed.
“It was a really tough game. There is a mixed feeling in the dressing room, because we could have won it and we also could have lost it.”
Arsene Wenger has been coming in for a great deal of criticism lately, in the newspapers as well as on this website. Accusations of stubbornness and tactical mistakes, along with a general feeling of impatience as we Gooners face another trophyless season.

Wenger – Arsenal will be back to their best…..in a month!

Posted on November 07, 2012 by admin
Arsene Wenger saw his team throw away a two-goal lead against Schalke last night which would have made them favourites to top their Group, but more importantly would have given the Gunners a confidence boost after an abysmal run in the Premiership.
Arsenal have had only one outright win in their last six matches and now have an uphill struggle to make up the nine points gap at the top of the Premiership table, but Wenger is surprisingly pleased with the single point from last night’s game. “For us it was important first of all not to lose and if possible to win.” Wenger said.

Arsenal bottle it again and will now struggle to win Group

Schalke 04 2-2 Arsenal, not a good result at all and leaves us in limbo by KJ
It was all going so well at 2-0 up. We had our Arsenal back and there was a glimmer of hope once again. However, we are used to bottling it when it counts the most and this game was no different with Schalke managing to get the two goals that gives them the point they needed.
